  4. MoneyTracker was written by Samuel Bowers. The program is copyright

  8.                     ****** About the Program ******
  9.  
  10. If you have not registered MoneyTracker yet, then the first thing you will
  11. see on loading the program is the registration reminder. After reading the
  12. information that it contains, click on the `I promise to register' gadget.
  13. Don't forget to keep your promise! When you have clicked on this, a short
  14. delay of about ten seconds will take place and then you are in the program
  15. proper. The registration reminder, followed by the delay will appear every so
  16. often during your use of the program until you register. On registering you 
  17. will find that both the registration reminder and the delay will disappear 
  18. forever.

  20. The main window of the program is the Index window. Here you are presented
  21. with several options. They are all explained in detail below. The first thing
  22. to do is either set an account up, or load one in. Nothing else (apart from
  23. the Quit option) will work until that is done.

  25. Here is a complete list of all the options:
  26.  
  27.     Set up a New Account:  This does just what it says. It sets up a new
  28.                            account (surprise surprise). On selecting this
  29.                            option, you can input  the date, Account name,
  30.                            Account number and Opening Balance. If you 
  31.                            change your mind at any time just press the
  32.                            `Forget It' gadget and no changes will be made,
  33.                            otherwise, when all the info has been typed in,
  34.                            press the `All Done' gadget and your new account
  35.                            will be ready for use.

  37.           Make a Deposit:  Again, this does exactly what it claims to do. Put
  38.                            money into your account by pressing this gadget.
  39.  
  40.        Make a Withdrawal:  Well, guess what. Would you believe that this
  41.                            option allows you to debit money from the account?
  42.  
  43.           Delete an Item:  If you have made a mistake, you can rectify it
  44.                            by using this option.
  45.  
  46.             Load Account:  This option can only be used if you have
  47.                            previously saved an account, otherwise, just
  48.                            exactly what do you propose to load in?
  49.  
  50.             Save Account:  Once an account has been opened you can save it so
  51.                            that you don't lose it when you turn your computer
  52.                            off.

  54.             View Account:  Well, I just had to include this option. What
  55.                            would be the use of a finances program if you
  56.                            couldn't see what you'd done?
  57.  
  58.             Quit Program:  I know that this a superb program and you will
  59.                            probably find it difficult to tear yourself away
  60.                            from it, but eventually you will get too tired or
  61.                            hungry and need to end it all (the program that 
  62.                            is), so I included this option, so that you don't
  63.                            end up putting your fist through your lovely
  64.                            computer, trying to get out of the program.

  66. That's it really. It's a small program, but useful (I hope). The program is
  67. not finished yet. I will do updates sometime, but only if I get enough
  68. registrations. As soon as the tenth person has registered this program I will
  69. do an update and include exciting new features. So, in short, less than ten
  70. registrations, no update. If I do an update, then all registered users will
  71. receive the update free of charge.

  92. to register, then send £5.00 or $12 or DM 15,- to the above snail-mail 
  93. address. I would prefer it if you sent cash, but please bear in mind that 
  94. should it get `lost in the post' I cannot be held responsible. To safeguard 
  95. against this you could send your registration by registered post, but this 
  96. will likely cost more. You decide if you think it's worth it.

  106.  
  107. Don't use this program if your balance is likely to exceed 32747 because for
  108. some reason the program goes wrong above this limit. I tried and tried and
  109. tried and then tried some more to fix this, but I just can't seem to fathom
  110. it. I know it MUST be possible, but how? It's got me stumped. If there are
  111. any programmers (particularly Blitz Basic2 programmers) out there who have
  112. the solution, then I would be VERY grateful if you would let me know.

  114. When wanting to go to the next gadget for typing things in (in the Setup,
  115. Deposit and Withdrawal options) DO NOT click the mouse in the gadget
  116. unless you want to clear the existsing information in that gadget. Go to it
  117. by pressing the return key until the cursor is in the correct gaget.
  118.  
  119. In the Delete option, pressing the RETURN key will cause the currently
  120. displayed entry to be deleted whereas pressing the ENTER key will cause the
  121. currently displayed entry to be cleared, but not deleted. This can also be
  122. achieved by pressing either mouse button when the pointer is NOT in the
  123. selection gadget.

  127. Unfortunately, I MUST include this part. All users use this program at their
  128. own risk. In the highly unlikely event that the use of this program causes
  129. damage to the users equipment or files, Samsof cannot be held responsible,
  130. even if said damage was caused by a programming error (bug). You do however
  131. have my cast iron guarantee that I do my utmost best to ensure that such
  132. nasty bugs do not exist and that viruses are not present before releasing the
  133. software that I write, so this situation should NEVER happen. If it does,
  134. please let me know immediately, so I can warn other users.
